peaq is Real: Officially Launched Its Mainnet to Power a Global Machine Economy

Having just launched its mainnet on November 12, 2024, peaq is positioned as a Layer-1 blockchain dedicated to the support of DePINs (Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks) and empowering real-world applications in a decentralized manner.

In the lead-up to its official launch, peaq made substantial progress in October and on November 12th, the network officially launched on mainnet — a significant move to mark the beginning of Novembull 2024.
Real Milestones
Few weeks to peaq’s mainnet launch was a time for various impressive milestones:
➔ The network’s Developer Portal went live, offering developers a centralized resource for building new applications on peaq.
➔ Notable industry players like Kiln and Twinstake were onboarded as genesis validator nodes to cement the network’s foundation and support staking.
*Kiln, a digital asset rewards platform known for managing over $8.6 billion in assets, lets staking be easy for $PEAQ holders, with gained support from partners such as Fireblocks and Crypto.com.
*Twinstake adds institutional staking support for peaq. With its multi-protocol approach (supporting Ethereum, Solana, NEAR, Polygon, and more), it helps extend peaq Network’s reach and reliability across Web3.
➔ peaq also underwent a CertiK audit and received top-notch ranking during its pre-launch phase.
➔ The TokenPocket wallet, a widely used multichain wallet with millions of users, now supports peaq. This integration increases accessibility, allowing users from Asia and beyond to easily manage their $PEAQ tokens and access DePINs on peaq.
➔ peaq has fostered an active online community, engaging with developers, users, and enthusiasts through regular Twitter/X Spaces sessions.
peaq’s X Spaces sessions introduce users to the ecosystem’s latest developments and projects, including DePINs like DeNetPro, PickspotNetwork, and LayerZero, the latter of which connects the peaqosystem to around 90+ blockchains. These sessions allow developers to showcase their work and discuss the real-world impact of their projects.
➔ peaq welcomed 25 more new ambassadors, selected from over 3,000 applicants from across 85 countries. There are new representatives in Australia, Canada, Brazil, Kenya, the United Arab Emirates, Vietnam, and beyond.
peaq’s presence is now readily available across 37 countries in six continents. peaq ambassadors onboard new users, educate communities, and support local initiatives. They promote peaq in 22 languages and broadens its global reach.
➔ peaq’s initial launch on CoinList attracted over $30 million in contributions from over 14,000 wallets and was oversubscribed with $36 million contributed.
Real DePINs
The peaq ecosystem, or “peaqosystem,” as often called, is home to over 1.75 million devices, with the number of active DePINs reaching 39 and counting up to 50, covering 21 industries across various facets of its Machine Economy.
It began laying the groundwork for new DePIN applications in sectors such as connectivity, renewable energy, supply chain management, AI, and healthcare, for a long time prior to its mainnet launch.
IoT devices proliferate while peaq’s network offers infrastructure for massive device communication, automated transactions, and data exchange.
Some of the most exciting DePIN projects on peaq Network (call them my picks) include:
- The YOM Community: This is a hardcore decentralized cloud gaming infrastructure community with near-zero latency gaming, embedded anywhere. It pioneers decentralized cloud gaming and brings its infrastructure to users on a global network.
- XMAQUINA: This one has a primary focus on autonomous robotics; plans to develop a fully decentralized robot ecosystem.
- Wingbits: Specializes in aerospace and flight tracking, and uses peaq’s network to enhance transparency and security in air travel.
- Menthol Protocol: Offers data solutions in a decentralized manner for climate, weather, and sustainability.
- Wicrypt: Provides decentralized internet access and enables people worldwide to connect via a network of shared resources.
- WayruNetwork: Like Wicrypt, it has a focus on the provision of wireless connectivity to the underserved regions of the world.
- PowerPod: peaq’s very own electric-vehicle charging DePIN network. One of the very first to step into the peaqosystem.
Recent additions include SkyX Network, which focuses on global weather data, and Touchbrick, dedicated to data security. CoinDesk, TechBullion, and Forbes featured peaq’s outstanding progress, with articles on enterprise interest in DePINs and some of the real-world implications obtained from them.
peaq continues to secure strategic partnerships while DePINs on peaq are now used by people in 95% of countries globally.
Real Mainnet Launch
peaq launched its mainnet with $PEAQ, its official native token listed on 10+ exchanges including major ones.

The initial listing price of $PEAQ was $0.1 — a good profit call for this who bought at pre-market price of $0.07 — and is currently trading between $0.3 to $0.2.
$PEAQ now has over 4 billion tokens in circulation and a 3.5% inflation rate that is gradually expected to flatten on a rate of 10%, till it gets to 1%.

Get Real Campaign
peaq’s Get Real pre-season campaign is currently underway, for members of the community to earn rewards with some real-world value creation.
