“DePINs” are among the trendiest Web3 narratives in 2024 and Peaq Network is at the forerunner of this sector.

peaq has been building a decentralized ecosystem of physical infrastructural networks that is new and unique to the rest of Web3.

I would call this a bold approach to decentralized industries (or deIndustries) — ecosystems where machines and devices thrive autonomously, and with the support of blockchain tech.

The traditional, centralized system utilized by physical industries is faulty. This allows them to take more than they should get and become dominant decision makers, ignoring the contribution of the community.

With decentralization, the traditional system is gradually becoming an obsolete one

peaq is the blockchain of and for DePINs and drives the era of a decentralized economy where you can stay in control and have a say in the operations of industries, machines, infrastructures, etc. and can earn from interacting with them.

deIndustries being harnessed on the peaq Network covers a wide range of real-world industries including:

- deFi (Machine DeFi)

- deCommunications

- deCybersecurity

- deConnectivity

- deAgriculture

- deNavigation

- deCharging

- deCompute

- deRobotics

- deDelivery

- deClimate

- deMobility

- deEnergy

- deHealth

- deCloud

- deCities

- deAI

Join me for a ride through some of these industries and peaq’s contributions in them, from Machine DeFi to deAgriculture.

Machine DeFi

This concept redefines how robots, vehicles, and devices interact within a financial system, as they operate autonomously and independently. Unlike human-centric traditional finance, MDeFi’s future is where machines can lend, borrow, and transact on their own terms, as economic entities.

The potential of Machine DeFi is being amplified with DePINs like:

Airwaive in which the peaq’s decentralized broadband network boosts connectivity, quite the necessity for machines that need to be on the internet 24/7.

Nexera builds on its DeFi capabilities and offers a comprehensive suite of services, with seamless liquidity generation and interoperability.

deCommunications

At the pivot of decentralized communication tech is a focus on enhancing how communities connect in real time. User control and participation is a first and foremost characteristic of this system where audio/video interactions are done without relying on traditional, profit-driven platforms. This includes streaming and video conferencing.

As a key partner, peaq is the foundational layer for dTelecom, a decentralized telecommunications network using community-operated nodes to push for decentralized audio and video distribution in a market worth trillions, with the scalability/security of the peaqosystem.

deCybersecurity

Online threats are looming larger than ever. Then, there’s the peaq Network setting the standard for the cybersecurity industry with good decentralized solutions such as the DATS Project, which peaq actively partners with to encourage its community to contribute their computing resources to combat cybercrime.

Idle machines ideally become vigilante defenders of Web3, while their owners earn rewards in return for their service toward humanity.

DATS utilizes the peaq Network’s Modular DePIN functions to keep constructing a robust framework for its decentralized marketplace; for the allocation of resources, efficient management, and a better operational potential for cybersecurity initiatives.

The peaqosystem is primed to host thousands of devices working collectively to secure the internet, positioning peaq at the forefront of a $420 billion industry projected for 2030.

deConnectivity

deConnectivity is one industry situated at the heart of peaq’s rollout for establishing a decentralized infrastructure that both embraces and enhances connectivity for a myriad of applications, ranging from IoT devices to smart cities.

peaq dismantles traditional Web2 intermediaries and encourages users to forge strong connections between devices and systems in an environment powered by Web3 technology.

As part of its commitment to deConnectivity, peaq integrated Chirp and Wicrypt into its ecosystem.

Chirp network has a borderless connectivity layer supporting multi-protocol connections, for device onboarding and efficient communication between various DePINs.

Wicrypt lets users become connectivity providers, sharing their internet access through a network of thousands of hotspots. This allows communities to subsidize internet access with individuals earning rewards just for sharing their hotspots.

And then, there’s NetSepio, a network that is both secure and universally accessible, pushing across the board for internet access. Anyone can set up a VPN node and share their internet bandwidth, and earn from it. NetSepio merges decentralized VPN (ÐVPN) and ÐWi-Fi web3 tech to keep the internet safer, more private, and available to everyone.

deAgriculture

The livelihoods of farmers have to be improved to ensure a transparent food journey from the farm to your table. As up to 40% of the world’s population relies on agriculture for their income, the need for a fair and efficient marketplace is paramount.

peaq brought Farmsent into its ecosystem, a long time ago, to facilitate a Farmers-to-Business (F2B) marketplace for agricultural commerce, and uplifts farmers, directly connecting them with businesses and bypassing traditional intermediaries that often hinder profit margins and introduce inefficiencies, while providing said businesses access to fresh, high-quality produce.

With peaq’s blockchain tech, Farmsent enhances traceability and transparency in the supply chain. Farmers and their products are securely validated in authenticity and trust, while peaq uses smart contracts for upfront payments and safeguards farmers from exploitation and financial instability.

This is as far as I can go for now.

More deIndustries will be covered SOON in my incoming articles on peaq.

Stay tuned for the peaq Network’s launch, drawing closer, each passing day. Check out their tweet on deFuture of decentralized industries here.
