The peaq “Get Real” Campaign: Why & How to Join the $100M Incentivized Push to Build the Future of DePINs.

6 min readFeb 26, 2025

it’s time to get real.

REAL WORLD. REAL ASSETS. REAL VALUE.

One of its most promising frontiers is decentralized physical infrastructure networks (DePINs), which use blockchain power and real-world devices to create decentralized services and infrastructure.

This month, peaq, the leading blockchain for DePINs, launched its 1 year long Get Real campaign designed to reward users for building real-world value through DePIN projects.

With a staggering $100M rewards worth in hardware, exclusive merchandise, and $PEAQ tokens, the initiative aims to quicken the adoption of DePINs and ignite the Machine Economy.

Let’s explore the details of the Get Real campaign.

What is peaq’s Get Real Campaign?

Get Real is an incentivized program for driving real-world engagement with DePINs built on peaq. The campaign encourages individuals to complete various on-chain and off-chain quests, in return for substantial rewards.

Three things to note here:

  • Experience points (XP),
  • NFT points (NP), and
  • Token rewards.

For 12 months, the campaign will run as seasons, each featuring different DePIN projects + new sets of quests. The first one has begun already, and subsequent seasons will introduce additional networks and challenges.

How Does it Get Real?

1. Participants Complete Real-World Quests

The campaign offers a range of tasks that help strengthen DePINs:

  • Installing DePIN apps or browser extensions.
  • Sharing crowdsourced navigation data.
  • Environmental monitoring, eg., local noise pollution or air quality.
  • Connecting wearables, IoT sensors, and other physical compatible devices.

Every completed quest earns participants XP and NP, which determine their rankings and eligibility for rewards.

2. Performance, Not Participation Trophies

When you join in, you just have to be there. You will be ranked to get real with other participants on a main leaderboard that determines who gets the largest share of the $PEAQ token rewards.

Basically, the more impactful your contribution, the higher your rank.

At the end of each season, peaq distributes:

  • $PEAQ rewards from an allocated pool.
  • NFT-based incentives for the upgrading of digital avatars.
  • Additional rewards for all your referrals and other DeFi-related activities.

Season 1’s reward pool alone is over 18.8 million $PEAQ tokens. This is one of the most lucrative DePIN campaigns in blockchain history.

3. peaqonaut NFTs

To join Get Real, users must create a peaqonaut NFT, your digital avatar representing a futuristic human from the year 2424, when peaq’s Machine Economy has expanded beyond Earth.

Theoretically.

These NFTs were designed by KOTO (the creative agency behind Call of Duty’s brand evolution), and so, they embody high-quality sci-fi aesthetics.

You get to pick any of these four futuristic factions:

➤ Terrakyn, for humans on a regenerated Earth, augmented with technology.

➤ Palladian, for the first Moon settlers pioneering space infrastructure.

➤ Marrasi, for Martian explorers “terraforming” the Red Planet.

➤ YX-35, for sentient robots with uploaded human consciousness, operating on Europa.

As you complete quests, your peaqonaut NFT will continuously acquire unique traits, equipment, and locations.

What Makes the Get Real Campaign Unique?

The sheer size of the reward pool makes Get Real stand out.

With 210M $PEAQ (approx. $100M) in incentives, it is one of the largest DePIN-focused incentivized initiatives ever launched (along with Helium, Akash, etc.), so you can rest assured that contributors see tangible benefits for their efforts.

Also, having a sci-fi-themed peaqonaut [2424] NFT system brings a gamified and engaging element to participation, which is contrast but in symphony with peaq’s real-world ideals, where (unlike traditional crypto rewards programs), Get Real is designed to farm practical, real-world value through DePINs.

Each season keeps changing with the tides, with new projects and incentives. That way, both new and returning users always have opportunities to contribute and earn from doing so.

Getting Real With the First 15 DePINs in Season 1

For the first season, 15 DePINs are getting it on in the peaqosystem. Each of them is bringing in their big deals to saturate the campaign with the good of what it’s worth.

  1. Aizel deals with secure and verifiable on-chain AI.
  2. Charge.xyz creates a vibrant, community-driven matrix of electric vehicle charging stations, where everyday users connect their chargers to serve as vital nodes in a global grid that keeps modern mobility moving forward.
  3. YOM allows gamers to connect their rigs and lend computational power to game streaming services.
  4. Combinder changes smart household appliances into collaborative energy assets, enabling them to function collectively as part of a vast virtual power plant that harnesses home-generated power for communal benefit.
  5. DATS provides an opportunity for digital defenders to put their idle computing power to work, bolstering cybersecurity measures and building a robust communal shield against emerging online threats.
  6. The concept of storage takes on a fresh POV with DeNet’s layer which repurposes unused hard drive capacity into a decentralized repository for storage security and accessibility.
  7. This approach to data management is also found in Farmsent, a platform that links farmers with wholesalers and tracks food harvests on-chain so that agricultural goods are delivered with greater transparency and efficiency.
  8. Everyday computing devices find purpose through Kaisar, where a simple browser extension makes laptops and PCs nodes that lend their processing power to advanced artificial intelligence projects.
  9. As drivers navigate urban landscapes, MapMetrics turns each journey into an opportunity to enrich a collective navigation network, capturing real-time data that refines decentralized mapping systems.
  10. The healthcare sector finds a champion in Reflex, where persons chip in anonymized data from IoT devices like mobile wearables, for health research.
  11. Speaking of mobile anonymity, ROAM invites you to offer signal-quality data from your smartphone to fine-tune and scale mobile networks on a global stage.
  12. Silencio gathers measurements of ambient noise from a myriad of locations. This data coalesces into an expansive auditory map that documents the soundscapes of bustling urban centers + quiet rural areas.
  13. SkyX connects your backyard personal weather station on a worldwide scale for localized meteorological observations to draw up a comprehensive picture of global weather patterns.
  14. Teneo lets users share their unused social media bandwidth via a browser extension, tapping into digital capacities that might otherwise lie dormant.
  15. XMAQUINA offers a collaborative arena for those interested in autonomous AI-run robotic systems. Through its DAO, users participate in guiding the fast development of physical artificial intelligence, in a futuristic world where robots do majority of the work (if not all) and we get paid for it.
